SANDS POINT - A Long Island psychiatrist is under arrest for allegedly raping a patient.
Police say Marshall Hubsher, 62, of Sands Point, had sex with a 32-year-old female patient at his Flower Hill office during a treatment session.
Police say the woman was being treated for depression and it was her second session with Hubsher. The incident allegedly happened on April 3 at 8 p.m. at his practice located on Northern Boulevard.
Hubsher faced a judge today on third-degree rape and criminal sex act charges in Hempstead. He is free tonight on $50,000 bail.
News 12 Long Island has learned that back in 1988, Hubsher had his medical license suspended for Medicaid fraud and possession of a controlled substance.
Police are asking anyone who feels they were a victim of Hubsher to come forward and call 1-800-244-TIPS.
