CENTRAL ISLIP - A 20-year-old Ridge man was arraigned today in Central Islip in a fatal crash that left two teens dead.

Thomas Smith is accused of driving while on drugs and crashing his truck yesterday morning while on the way back from an amusement park. Police say Smith's girlfriend, 19-year-old Jacqueline Salvador, of Ridge, and 17-year-old Ryan Baumgartner, of Rocky Point, were ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

In court, prosecutors said Smith admitted smoking marijuana during the day and then took two muscle relaxants before the group left the park.

Smith is expected to make bail, which was set at $75,000. He's due back in court for a conference on Tuesday.
