Prosecutor: Man high on ecstasy crashed into 7-Eleven

CENTRAL ISLIP - A 21-year-old driver was high on ecstasy when he slammed his Jeep through the front of a 7-Eleven early Friday morning, prosecutors say.

The incident happened at the store located on West Roe Boulevard in Patchogue around 1 a.m.

Dylan Iorio, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested at the scene and charged with reckless endangerment and driving while ability impaired by drugs. Police say they found ecstasy pills on him.

The Ronkonkoma man pleaded not guilty to the charges against him in Central Islip court.

His father, Chris Osuna, says his son is an engineer and a hard worker.

"He's not a bad kid, absolutely not. Everyone makes mistakes," says Osuna.

His family says he's has been going through a tough time ever since his grandmother recently passed away.

Iorio will be in jail until his next court appearance next week. His father says he did not bail him out as a "wake-up call."

The 7-Eleven was boarded up and operational hours after the crash.
