BAY SHORE - A Bay Shore group that helps underprivileged families is itself in need of help.

Pronto, which has been helping the community since 1969, provides help to low-income families. The group serviced more than 65,000 clients last year.

During the month of August, Pronto distributes school supplies for children in need ahead of the new school year. The group’s supply of supplies is light, however, this year.

Pronto is hoping for volunteers and help to make sure it can fulfill the needs of this year.
