UNIONDALE - Tonight's Islanders-Rangers game held significant meaning in the stands and on the ice.
A portion of each ticket to the sold-out game went to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Long Island native Katie Beers, who was abducted and held captive 20 years ago in Bay Shore, was in attendance with John Walsh, the co-founder of the missing children's group.
The Rangers beat the Islanders 2-1 in overtime. A win in regulation would have tied the teams in the standings.
