MINEOLA - The Nassau County District Attorney's Office announced today that "numerous" additional people will be arrested soon in connection with the SAT cheating scandal.

Last month, Samuel Eshaghoff, 19, was arrested on criminal charges for allegedly accepting up to $2,500 each from six current and former Great Neck North High School students to take the test for them.

Eshaghoff's suspected clients pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges and have been released.

Now, District Attorney Kathleen Rice says the investigation is looking at potential cheating at a total of three public schools and one private school in Nassau County.

While Rice isn't saying that the upcoming arrests are related to the ones made last month, she does say the people may have run in the same circles.

"There was a universe of people who looked for, wanted, and found someone to take the test," she says.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the state Senate's Higher Education Committee is planning to hold a hearing on the scandal Oct. 25 at Farmingdale State College.
