WOODBURY - President Barack Obama will be delivering his State of the Union speech tomorrow against a backdrop of a slowly recovering economy, an assault on a member of Congress and a Republican takeover of the House of Representatives.

Lawmakers, such as Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford) and Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-Queens), are planning to show a united front after the assassination attempt on Rep. Gabriel Giffords (D-Ariz.) by sitting side by side with members of the opposite party.

The State of the Union address can be seen live at 9 p.m. tomorrow on News 12 Long Island and News12.com.
