WOODBURY - President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama paid tribute to service men and women today at a Memorial Day ceremony in Virginia.
The Obamas placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery to commemorate lives lost in war.
"Our nation owes a debt to its fallen heroes that we can never fully repay, but we can honor their sacrifice," Obama said. "And we must."
Following the ceremony, the president also participated in the Memorial Day service. In addition, the Obamas hosted a breakfast for families who have lost loved ones in combat.
