MEDFORD - Police say a pothole may have caused a serious crash in Medford. 

The incident happened on North Ocean Avenue around 12:25 a.m. when a woman driving hit a pothole and swerved into a utility pole. 

The pole and the wires came crashing down on the street. 

Police say the unidentified woman escaped with minor injuries.
