Postal Service cutting Saturday mail to trim costs
Saturday mail could soon be a thing of the past, after the U.S. Postal Service announced plans today to drop deliveries down to five days a week to trim costs.
Beginning the week of Aug. 5, home deliveries will cease on Saturdays, although packages will still be delivered, as will mail to post office boxes. The move is expected to save the Postal Service about $2 billion annually.
