WOODBURY - Starting early this morning, the Port Authority's toll rates rose again, with prices increasing for drivers coming into the city.

Those leaving New Jersey for New York City via the Port Authority's six Hudson River crossing are now paying extra, especially during peak hours, when tolls jump from $8 to $12. E-ZPass users will also see an increase of $1.50. The plan calls for gradual toll increases until 2015.

"It's really going to be a hardship for a lot of people and people who are just barely making it," says Marc Weinstein, of Roslyn Harbor.

The Automobile Association of America announced it plans to file a suit in federal court in the coming days, calling the toll increase illegal.
