WESTBURY - As Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) has announced his support for same-sex marriage, a new poll shows many Long Islanders are on the same page.
According to results of an exclusive News 12 Long Island/Hofstra poll, nearly 23 percent of Long Island residents are strongly in favor of the Marriage Equality Act, while another 39 percent are in favor of its passage.
Of those polled, 15 percent said they are strongly opposed to same-sex marriage in New York State and 16 percent are opposed.
Cuomo has said that legislators will consider the bill this session, which means before the summer recess.
