ROOSEVELT - Police are asking for the public's help in finding the men who were armed with a gun when they tried to rob a cab driver in Roosevelt.

Police say two men got into an All-Island taxi cab on Gombert Place in Roosevelt around midnight. One of the men sat up front and pulled out a gun.

The 58-year-old driver fought with the men, and both fled on foot without any proceeds.

Police describe the suspects as black males who stood around 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. They wore dark clothing, officials say.
