FARMINGVILLE - Police say a Farmingville woman was found dead after being a victim of violence.

Homicide detectives say they were called to a home on Berkshire Drive around 3:30 Sunday. Crime lab units and detectives also arrived, and the block was roped off for hours.

Police have not revealed the identity of the victim, but neighbors say they know the victim.

Maria DeSusan claims she is the aunt of the woman who died. DeSusan says she had plans to meet her niece Saturday night, but her niece canceled saying she had plans with a new friend.

DeSusan says the victim's husband committed suicide three years ago. She says the victim also has two children.
