SYOSSET - News 12 Long Island has learned that a tree trimmer from Hempstead has died after falling out of his bucket truck.

The incident happened yesterday on Lorraine Street in Syosset. 

Police say the worker, Stephan Wright, fell 27 feet to the ground. 

According to police, the 53-year-old was not wearing protective gear or a harness. 

Wright worked for A1 Tree and Shrub Service, of Freeport.

OSHA is now investigating.
