AMITYVILLE - A middle school student is recovering after being slashed by a classmate at summer school.

Police say the two teenagers got into a fight at the Edmund W. Miles Middle School in Amityville Wednesday morning. During the fight, one of the students slashed the other with a knife.

It is not known what started the fight or if the student with the knife will face charges.

The victim was not seriously hurt.
