ST. JAMES - A St. James man is accused of trying to tamper with red light cameras in Smithtown.

Police say Bryan Valentine put plastic bags over two red light cameras Friday night at the intersection of Main Street and Landing Avenue.

News 12 Long Island is told that a passerby called 911 to report the incident.

Valentine was charged with two counts of criminal tampering in the second degree.
