RIVERHEAD - Police say shots were fired outside a home in Riverhead Tuesday night.

They say a woman who lives on Segal Avenue called them at around 7:30 p.m. and said two strangers busted through her front door.

She said the strangers were yelling, "they're shooting at us, they're shooting at us" before exiting the home through a back window.

Riverhead Police Chief David Hegermiller says they did receive a report that the incident was possibly gang-related, but it has not been confirmed at this point.
