The driver of the Kia that struck the woman has been identified as a 36-year-old South Carolina man. He was uninjured.

Neighbors in the area say a posted speed limit of 30 mph is often ignored by drivers. They say a four-way stop at the intersection would be more effective than the current two-way stop.

The Kia driver has not been charged. Police are asking anyone with information on the crash to call 631-852-8752.
