LEVITTOWN - A registered sex offender from Valley Stream is accused of pretending to be a teenager while texting a 14-year-old girl.

Photos were posted to Facebook by a Levittown woman who claims 31-year-old David Murillo contacted her teen daughter and sent the pictures to her on Instagram. Police say Murillo claimed to be a 17-year-old boy and asked to meet the girl at the Target store in Hicksville.

The girl's parents notified police, who arrested Murillo at the store on Tuesday.

In addition to the inappropriate messages, detectives say they found child pornography on the suspect's iPod.

Murillo is charged with five counts of child pornography and endangering the welfare of a child. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Thursday.

In 2006, Murillo was arrested on similar charges in Suffolk County. He ultimately pleaded guilty and served six months behind bars.

Detectives ask any parents who believe their child may have had contact with Murillo to call the Special Victims Squad at 516-573-4022.
