FARMINGDALE - Police are searching for the suspect involved in a violent mugging in Nassau County.

Police say a 32-year-old woman stopped her car early yesterday morning on Garfield Avenue in Farmingdale to check a flat tire.

According to police, a black Honda Civic pulled up, a man got out and then put something against the woman's head.

Police say the man then grabbed the woman's purse and punched her several times in the face.

The woman ran to a nearby home for help and was treated at the hospital. Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
