HEWLETT - Police say they are searching for three suspects who terrorized a jewelry store owner and an 8-year-old boy in Hewlett yesterday.

Authorities say the armed robbers grabbed a customer?s son and held a gun to his head during the robbery. They also say one of the store's owners was pistol whipped during the ordeal.

Detectives say the men cleaned out a jewelry case, including a $10,000 diamond engagement ring, and took a $9,000 Rolex off the owner's wrist.

Police say one of the men had been in the store just a few hours earlier with a woman.  They say the pair asked to see a number of rings, including the one taken in the heist.
