EASTPORT - Police say they are searching for two suspects in connection to a home burglary in Eastport on Friday.

According to authorities, two people broke into the home at 46 Union Ave. Friday morning. Just after 9 a.m., officials say they surrounded the home after receiving a call.

Neighbors say police ordered them to evacuate as both ends of the street were blocked off and SWAT teams mobilized in front of the home. Officials have not yet released additional information about the incident.

According to witnesses, the suspects held a woman living in the home hostage while her husband drove to the Chase bank on Montauk Highway to withdraw money. They say the woman was later escorted from the home safely.

Police say nearby Eastport Elementary School was under modified lockdown on Friday as a precaution.
