GILGO BEACH - Authorities say the human remains foundalong Ocean Parkway earlier this week are not those of a missingNew Jersey woman who disappeared while working as a prostitute.

Suffolk County police found the remains Tuesday. They were abouta mile east from where the bodies of four prostitutes werediscovered in December.

A police spokeswoman said Thursday that authorities determinedthe remains were not those of Shannan Gilbert of Jersey City, N.J.Police say they still have not identified the remains. Aninvestigation into Gilbert's disappearance is continuing.

Police say Gilbert was heard yelling and screaming as she left an Oak Beach house last May and was then seen running down a street and into the brush. That was the last time she was ever seen, police say.

Police suspect a serial killer may be responsible for the deathsof the four women who were found in December. AP wire services contributed to this report
