MINEOLA - Nassau police are searching for the man responsible for a murder in Mineola.

Police say the man captured in surveillance video is believed to be responsible for the murder of Oscar Ventura Granados. Authorities have also released a composite sketch of the alleged suspect.

As News 12 has reported, Granados was gunned down on Jan. 11 while in the driveway of his home on Roslyn Road.

Police say the 43-year-old victim gambled and that robbery was a motive. "Mr. Granados was known to carry a substantial amount of cash," said Det. Capt. John Azzata.

The victim's brother said he heard the gunman demand money from Granados as he watched from the window.

Granados was a married father of two from El Salvador who worked seven days a week as a painter.
