WEST ISLIP - Detectives say they now know the make and model of the car that mowed down a teen and left him in a coma.

Police say the driver of a late model blue Chrysler 300 hit 16-year-old Ryan McCarthy on Udall Road in West Islip on New Year's Eve.

The car would have damage to the driver's side headlight, and the driver's side mirror would be missing.

McCarthy's friend, Brenna Krowl, says she believes the teen was hit on purpose.
