Police probe violent Lindenhurst home invasion

Police are searching for four armed suspects who forced their way into a Lindenhurst home last night and beat a woman with a baseball bat.

LINDENHURST - Police are searching for four armed suspects who forced their way into a Lindenhurst home last night and beat a woman with a baseball bat.

Homeowner Jose Lazano says at around 10 p.m., someone knocked on the door of his North Railroad Avenue home. When his daughter went to answer, four masked men burst in, and one of them hit the woman on the head.

Lazano says the intruders then went after him, demanding money, but when he grabbed the bat from one of them, they all took off.

According to investigators, the suspects were also armed with a handgun and a pipe, but didn't use either.

Lazano says his daughter was treated and released from the hospital this morning.

Neighbor Laura Setzer says this is the second time in a month that Lazano's home has been targeted.
