Police say a partially dismembered female body was found Tuesday morning in Bay Shore.

Suffolk police say two people walking to the Fire Island Ferry called 911 at around 6:50 a.m. after seeing the body in a weeded area near a municipal lot at the corner of Maple Avenue and Gibson Street.

Authorities would not reveal the victim's age or say more about the condition of the body.
