Police: Nathaniel Winfield killed in Central Islip shooting on Rosewood Street, 1 injured

CENTRAL ISLIP - Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in Central Islip Monday night.

According to police, uninvited guests arrived at a house party on Rosewood Street and were asked to leave. Police say a fight broke out on the street in front of the home.

During the fight, police say at least one shot was fired.

Police say Nathaniel Winfield, 31, of Central Islip, was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead from the gunshot wound. A second male identified as Joseph Jackson, 16, of Wyandanch, was injured by unknown means during the fight and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
