UNIONDALE - Police are reporting multiple injuries after a school bus carrying children crashed in Uniondale.

Authorities say the accident, involving a mini-bus and two other cars, happened at Hempstead Turnpike and Lawrence Street. A 911 call came in shortly after 4 p.m.

Hempstead Turnpike had been closed in both directions, but has since been reopened. 

The extent of the injuries are currently unknown.
