Police: Man thrown from boat after engine explodes

Police say the 43-year-old was on the water in Freeport yesterday when he started having engine problems.

According to police, the man was able to get it to a dock in Merrick and that's where it exploded.

FREEPORT - A man is recovering after being thrown from his boat after the engine exploded in Merrick. 

Police say the 43-year-old was on the water in Freeport yesterday when he started having engine problems.

According to police, the man was able to get it to a dock in Merrick and that's where it exploded. 

Police say the victim suffered minor burns to his face, arms and legs.
