WYANDANCH - Police say a man was shot and injured during an attempted robbery in Wyandanch.
Officers say Raheem Campbell, 21, was shot in the stomach on Nicolls Road around 9 p.m. Saturday. Campbell was seriously injured, but is expected to survive.
Campbell's parents say their son had just pulled up to their home with his girlfriend and 4-year-old daughter in the car when the shooting happened.

According to Campbell's mother, a white vehicle pulled up and a masked man demanded money from Campbell, then shot him in the abdomen.
Campbell's father says he followed the shooter's vehicle on his motorcycle.
A vehicle that matched the description of the shooter's vehicle was located moments later. As officers tried to pull over the white Jeep Liberty, it pulled into a driveway and its occupants fled on foot.
A short time later, police arrested 25-year-old Bobby Green, of Central Islip, and 26-year-old Avery Palmer, of North Amityville, a short time later. Investigators say they found a loaded gun in the Jeep.
Both men were charged with criminal possession of a weapon, but they have not been charged in connection in the shooting and attemped robbery at this time.
Palmer and Green both appeared in court on Sunday and pleaded not guilty to the weapon possesssion charges. They are each being held on $100,000 bail, and a judge ordered them to stay away from Campbell, although they have not been charged in that case.
Campbell's family is questioning why the two have not been charged in the shooting.
A lawyer for Green denied that his client was at all connected. "My client has no involvement with the shooting," said attorney Ian Fitzgerald. "He's charged simply with possession of a weapon, which he was not found in the vehicle where supposedly the weapon was found... He denies any involvement in the shooting. He doesn't know who this person is."
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
