PORT JEFFERSON STATION - Police arrested a homeless man Saturday after he allegedly shot another homeless man in Port Jefferson Station.

Alain Jean is accused of shooting the victim multiple times after a dispute on Union Avenue at 12:35 p.m.

The 22-year-old victim was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.

Jean was charged with assault. He is due in court on June 12.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
