VALLEY STREAM - Police say a man was arrested after terrorizing a driver, rear-ending the victim's car, following him and flashing a BB gun.

According to police, a male victim, 35, was driving westbound on the Southern State Parkway near Exit 13 when he was tapped multiple times in the rear by a dark-colored vehicle.

Police say when the victim exited the parkway and was stopped on Linden Boulevard, the subject pulled alongside the victim’s car and allegedly pointed a black handgun at him around 10:45 p.m.

The victim then attempted to drive off, but was followed by the subject. Officials say the victim drove onto Elmont Road and then eastbound onto West Merrick Road where the subject again pointed a black handgun at the victim.

Police say at the intersection of West Merrick Road and South Franklin Avenue in Valley Stream, the victim saw a police officer and was able to report the ongoing incident.

The officer observed the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to pull it over, but he refused to stop.

According to police, at the intersection of Merrick Road and Henry Street in Freeport the suspect drove through a red light, collided into two vehicles and came to a stop.

The officers placed Daniel Longo, 26, of West Babylon, under arrest.

Longo was charged with two counts of menacing, possession of a weapon, reckless driving, and several other violations. Longo was arraigned and held on $5,000 bond.

There were no reported injuries to the victims' involved in the collision or driver of the car that was followed.
