WESTHAMPTON BEACH - A man is facing a felony charge after he allegedly injured a state trooper while being placed under arrest following a rowdy fight at a Westhampton Beach restaurant.

State troopers and Westhampton Beach village police responded to a report of a fight between two men in front of the Mill Roadhouse on Mill Road early Sunday morning.

Police were conducting interviews when they say 26-year-old Kevin Sabo became verbally and physically combative.

As Sabo was taken into custody, a trooper sustained an injury to his hand and had to be hospitalized for treatment.

Sabo, of Westhampton Beach, is charged with second-degree assault, a felony, as well as disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

At his arraignment, Sabo was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
