GORDON HEIGHTS - ? Suffolk police are investigating the shooting death of a man who was found on the front porch of a Gordon Heights home this morning.

Officers responded to Rose Lane after a 911 caller reported hearing shots fired at 5:41 a.m.

Upon arrival, police say they found Ronald Fitzgerald lying on the front porch of the home. Fitzgerald, 32, had been shot down the street and then stumbled two blocks to wind up on the porch of the home where he was found, police say. He was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The homicide unit is investigating the incident.
