Police: Man beat Alzheimer's patient into a coma in New Cassel

NEW CASSEL - Police have arrested a 23-year-old man who they say beat an Alzheimer's patient into a coma for just a few dollars.Family members say David Martinez, 68, will be on life support forever after he was beaten and robbed in New Cassel last month. Martinez, who has Alzheimer's, wandered from his Hicksville home and got lost two miles away in New Cassel, where police say Josue Bonilla, 23, brutally attacked and robbed the elderly man of just a few dollars.Bonilla proclaimed his innocence in court, but prosecutors say witnesses picked him out of a photo lineup. He has been charged with robbery and assault and is being held without bail.
