VALLEY STREAM - Police are searching for a man who attempted to rob two Nassau banks with in a matter of minutes Saturday.

Officials say a man walked into the Dime Savings Bank on West Merrick Road in Valley Stream just before noon and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The suspect fled when the teller told him that she didn’t have any money.

Only 45 minutes later, the Citibank on Franklin Avenue in Garden City was robbed by a suspect who passed a note to a teller. The teller complied and the suspect fled the scene.

Police say the man wore a Baltimore Orioles baseball cap, a black hooded sweatshirt, acid-washed blue jeans and white sneakers.
