Police: Man arrested for having bags of marijuana in car in Great Neck

GREAT NECK -  A Queens man was stopped in Nassau County for allegedly driving with a suspended registration, but arrested for drug possession. 

According to police, they pulled over George Martinez in Great Neck before 7 p.m. Monday. 

As the officer walked up to the car, police say he was hit by the smell of marijuana. 

Officers then say they found 31 bags of marijuana and vape vials of concentrated marijuana in the car. 

Martinez is also accused of having a suspended license. 

Martinez is charged with criminal possession of controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
