FREEPORT - Five months after a Freeport woman was fatally shot in a local park, police say they've made an arrest in her murder. A grand jury indicted 22-year-old Rochell Davis, of Baldwin, in the murder of Kelly Ann McGuire, 43. Back in June, McGuire was found badly bleeding from a single gunshot wound on a bridge that divides the towns of Freeport and Baldwin. She later died at a hospital. In the months since McGuire's murder, her sister, Kathleen, says she went on a crusade for justice. She says she posted fliers, offered a $5,000 reward and called detectives every week for updates on the investigation. Kathleen McGuire says her sister was dealing with an addiction to crack-cocaine before she died, and believes that may have had to do with her death. She says she hopes to learn the motive at Davis' trial. Davis has been charged with second-degree murder. Police say he was also charged with two counts of attempted murder in the unrelated shooting of two people back in September.
