ROOSEVELT - Police say they are investigating a suspected murder-suicide in Roosevelt earlier today.

Officials say they believe a 33-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her ex-boyfriend on East Raymond Avenue at around 9:30 a.m. Investigators say that after stabbing his ex, the 37-year-old male went to his home on Union Place, where he then stabbed himself to death.

Nassau homicide detectives say they are still unclear of the man's motive. They say the victim got an order of protection on June 15, but could not confirm what specifically prompted the victim to get the order.
