MEDFORD - Police have confirmed that the body found in a wooded area of Medford on Thursday is that of missing 21-year-old mother Sarah Goode.

Goode was reported missing last week. She was last seen early Saturday morning when she was leaving a friend's house in Shirley. Her abandoned car was found Sunday night, less than a mile from where a search party found her body.

Her body was found in the woods at the end of Camden Court in Medford.

Police have not released Goode's cause of death and they have not identified any possible suspects, but they have confirmed that her death is being investigated as a homicide.

Family members tell News 12 Long Island that Goode recently broke up with her boyfriend. Detectives say that they are exploring that information, but have not said whether he is a person of interest.

Police say they have received some tips, but it is still very early in their investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.

Goode's 4-year-old daughter is now being cared for by her family. Loved ones have set up a website to raise money for Goode's funeral, and to create a bank account for her daughter.
