SEAFORD - Police say a man who stole thousands from a Seaford gas station this weekend made one big bungle before he fled. Surveillance footage shows a hooded burglar breaking the gas station store window, then crawling inside. He grabbed the register, took cigarettes and stole lottery tickets. Then, he looked right up at the camera.Police hope someone will be able to identify the man through the straightforward image captured.Gas station owner Ravi Singh estimates the cash stolen plus damages totals at around $20,000. He says the alarm didn't go off because the security company only installed motion detectors in the main part of the store, not behind the register. Singh says he'll be boosting up his security now.Anyone with information on the burglary is urged to call Nassau Crime Stoppers at 1-800 244-TIPS.
