The unidentified victim was air lifted to the hospital with serious head injury.

CENTRAL ISLIP - Authorities are searching for the driver of a hit-and-run accident that seriously injured a young man in Suffolk. 

Police say an unidentified man was crossing Carleton Avenue in Central Islip just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday, when he was hit by a northbound vehicle.

The victim was airlifted to the hospital with serious head injuries.

Anyone who may have seen the crash is asked to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
