WOODBURY - A Lindenhurst man is accused of drunken driving and fleeing the scene after striking a biker with his vehicle Friday night.

Police say Frederick Hoffman's minivan collided with a motorbike on North Eighth Street in Lindenhurst at around 10 p.m.

Hoffman allegedly fled the scene, but was arrested a short time later.

The biker, 19-year-old Richard Scheuermann, suffered a severe leg injury.

A couple who live on the block helped Scheuermann out of the street and stayed with him until he was airlifted to the hospital.
