Police find home filled with animal remains in Rockville Centre

ROCKVILLE CENTRE - Police have arrested a Rockville Centre woman after finding the remains of dead animals in her home.

Authorities say they were called to the house on Montauk Avenue after the upstairs tenant reported smelling natural gas. Once inside, they found dogs in cages living in feces alongside rotting carcasses.

Animal control officials say they found 13 dogs alive, but have still not counted how many are dead. Police say the deceased animals were all in various stage of decomposition.

Officials say the woman was arrested, but charges are still pending.
