Lee Ackerman says he found a piece of metal in his shrubs that police say may have fallen from an airplane.

STEWART MANOR - Nassau police and FAA officials are looking into a report of a plane part falling from the sky and landing on a Stewart Manor lawn.

Lee Ackerman says he found a piece of metal in his shrubs that police say may have fallen from an airplane. The 11 ½-by-12-inch sheet was labeled with technical terminology.

Police took the part. Ackerman says they told him they would contact the FAA to determine where it came from.

 Ackerman says there was no damage to his home and nobody was hurt.

 Nassau police told News 12 Long Island that an investigation is underway.
