MINEOLA - Police responded to a bomb scare at Jericho Terrace Catering Hall in Mineola Thursday night after reports of an explosion.

Witnesses among the roughly 100 people inside say they heard a bang and saw an explosion and smoke outside the building.

Police say the explosion was the result of commercial fireworks shot out of a tube launcher.

No one was hurt.

Police say they are searching for the person who shot the fireworks.
