Pedestrian killed in Bay Shore hit-and-run

The search is on for a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Bay Shore early Saturday morning and then left the scene.

BAY SHORE - The search is on for a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Bay Shore early Saturday morning and then left the scene.

The crash happened on Redington Street shortly after 3 a.m.

Police have identified the male victim as 30-year-old Elvin Ponce.

Investigators are asking any witnesses to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
