ELMONT - Police have confirmed that a recent knifepoint robbery is connected to similar crimes in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

The latest incident happened at a Dunkin' Donuts on Linden Boulevard in Elmont early Tuesday morning. Like the other cases, police say the suspect held a large kitchen knife and wore a cloth across his face. None of the four workers were injured.

The suspect was last seen running northbound on 238th Street. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket, blue jeans and work boots, according to police. He also wore sunglasses and gloves.

Last month, News 12 obtained surveillance video of a similar holdup. Now, police say a total 12 Dunkin' Donuts, Subway, Carvel and 7-Eleven stores stretching from Valley Stream to Massapequa Park have been targeted since March. Two more robberies in Suffolk - in Commack and Copiague - also fit the pattern, according to police.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
